My name is Scott Cotter, and I’m the proud owner of Encompass Fitness, located right here in Marlborough, Massachusetts.

My wife Patricia and I moved to Marlborough in August of 2006, and from the beginning, we knew this city would be our forever home. It’s been an incredible place to raise our two sons, Luke and Logan. Recently, both boys attended Saint John’s High School in Shrewsbury. This fall, Luke will be heading off to UCONN to major in Biology, and Logan will be starting at St. Mark’s School in Southborough—just 1.9 miles from Encompass Fitness.

Living in Marlborough and becoming part of the Encompass Fitness community has introduced me to so many amazing people—neighbors and friends I might never have met otherwise. Since purchasing Encompass Fitness seven years ago, I’ve had the opportunity to push myself personally as well, competing in three fitness shows with the support of my incredible coach, Mike Ciulla. He’s been instrumental in helping me prepare and stay focused over the years.

Most recently, I competed in the PCA US Fitness Contest—right here in Marlborough—and was honored to place first in several divisions. Hearing my name announced—“Scott Cotter from Marlborough, Massachusetts”—in front of my wife and kids was one of the proudest moments of my life.

Choosing to dedicate myself to health and fitness was originally about staying strong and healthy for my family. Over time, that passion became a lifestyle and ultimately led me to own and operate my own business in this wonderful city. Walking into Encompass Fitness each day, I still have moments where I stop and say to myself, “Scott Cotter, you did it.”

Back in 2006, Patricia and I made the decision to build a life and family in Marlborough. Looking back now, it's clear—it was the best decision we ever made.
